Alex McRobs is a 500-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher, certified Barre Instructor and Certified Life Coach, specializing in Sobriety. She is originally from Canada but currently resides in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. When Alex was nineteen, a mental health counsellor suggested she try yoga as a tool for managing her struggles with her mental health, and after one class she was hooked. Not long after, she realized she was meant to become a yoga teacher and share this healing tool with others.
Alex travelled to Mexico to receive her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2014 and has taught yoga since then in Canada, Kuwait and Abu Dhabi. Since then, she has received her 300-Hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training in Bali and went on to qualify in Trauma-Informed Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, Children’s Yoga, Barre, Spinning, Meditation, and Reiki and is continuously learning and developing her expertise, most recently with the Yoga Alliance.
In 2019, after having a difficult relationship with alcohol and partying, she quit drinking altogether to improve her mental health and in 2020, Alex founded The Mindful Life Practice Community, an online virtual yoga studio for travellers and expats. She also created Sober Girls Yoga, which helps women quit alcohol and develop a daily yoga practice and is happy to be sharing her passion to help women with sobriety and improved mental health through yoga, meditation and counselling.
